Recovering...

...from the San Diego Century:

Course Maps | San Diego Century Bike Ride

Know what's worse than lugging 250# uphill?

...NOTHING!!!
Watching those weighing 80 lbs less flying uphill got to my head.

Knees are killing me.

105 miles in 7 1/2 hrs, 6500 vertical.

wdfifteen 05-20-2012 04:55 PM

You lived to talk about it. Congratulations!!

vash 05-20-2012 05:01 PM

Don't you have race cars for thrills?

lowyder993s 05-20-2012 07:10 PM

Yes...2...but unlike you, look171 and johnrogers I'm not fast on a bike. I'm a slow twitch kinda guy.

mikeesik 05-20-2012 07:12 PM

lowyder993s 05-20-2012 07:14 PM

20 oz bottles 5x water and gatorade (200 oz) and 3 PB and honey sammiches. No pizzing either.

Really ? This is learnt , not experimented-RIGHT?

You've done well my Son- so to speak.

I was a biker until a car crash. My Son has it in his blood and for such a young age it is something to remark about.

I wish to follow him, where 2 years ago he'd have to follow me.

I've seen the bikes out there in a serious way and just purchased Simon an awesome-dream bike- which he has earned and is no pretender.

I admire fellas that can bike seriously that takes a lot. I wish to get back into it slowly and take it back up as a perhaps serious hobby with my Son. Be nice if I could keep up with him.

I will take any advice and can admire peoples accomplishments on the human powered machines.

vash 05-20-2012 07:32 PM

sounds brutal..maybe i'll do it with you next year? i love peanut butter and honey!!

lowyder993s 05-20-2012 07:32 PM

A person like you has my undying admiration...I've got no excuse other than overeating. I've been told I have an addictive personality (go figure, look at my sig line). But those endophins are hard to walk away from. The only problem now, is my body sweats at the drop of a hat, not good if you're a bowhunter. :(

lowyder993s 05-20-2012 07:33 PM

Ooops...Cliff got between us, but can attest! I guarantee no snakes either Cliff ;)

mikeesik 05-20-2012 08:17 PM
