Next Auction Motorcycle for Big Brothers Big Sisters - Silverwing????

Some will remember that last year my non profit received a nice original CB360T from a donor and we cleaned it up, had a local vintage shop go through it with donated labor and sold it at our Gala Auction in October for a whopping $5,500. Way more than I thought. I had figured $2,500. Wayyyyy more than folks on this board thought. It was a great event and fun item. I think it was the second or third highest seller that night.

We picked this up today. Jokingly referred to as Prince's motorcycle by our Donation Center Manager. 1982 Silverwing, 16,500 miles, looks really well cared for. He stuck a battery on it today after I stuck my nose in the gas tank and prounounced the fuel as ok. It fired right up and ran great. It's been sitting for 2+ years. The owner was awesome, said the rear monoshock seal went bad and leaked fluid. All original and in great shape. A bit of chrome pitting but the paint is really nice.

What would you do to make this a sellable item at a gala auction with a bunch of semi drunk guys/gals looking to recapture their youth? We were thinking remove the fairing, find a headlight/signal combo, flatter bars, mechanical refresh. Maybe a more cafe style treatment to the seat. Keep the original stuff or sell it to a Silverwing owner who needs a fairing.

Que Purple Rain...........

I think just get one of the MILFs to put on a bikini and sit on the back. Of course "props" not included in the auction but the buyer can at least take the MILF for a ride around the block.

What a great thing you are doing!!!

I had that exact same bike (naked) when I was dating my now wife. We dated on that bike. I kissed her the first time on that bike and subsequently sold it and took a hiatus from riding when I got my contract to fly for the USMC.

I want to come to the PNW and bid on your bike.

My suggestion...keep it stock, clean it up and it'll sell.
