What is this thing, it has that top knot/tassel hanging from the back of it's head, when it shakes it's head the thing flops around,

It's a heron. Can't come up with the exact name at the moment.

My Grandfather was a avid bird watcher, He used to call then: Chitaquarts because when they took flight and lifted off, they'd.........

Many birds do that. Need no extra weight. That's also why they don't have a separate track for urine and fecal matter. It all comes out together ASAP.

Birds are pretty nasty IMHO - tasty though. ;)

I hope so. It was the longest movie I have seen for a long time, even though it was only an hour and 35 minutes.
