Flashlight addiction??

Flashlight forum?

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/forum.php

is your wife/girlfriend/significant other supportive of your flashlight addiction?

herr_oberst 05-31-2012 08:55 AM

I was just telling my girlfriend about this forum the other day; She found it hard to believe.

(I'm not a member, I just ran across it once when I was looking at flashlights on line.)

i think it's a indication of a common trait in alot of males. obsessive need to discover, investigate, understand and improve.

they're right too. car guys, motorcycle guys, bicycle guys, flashlight guys, all describe "tinkerer" guys

I like the post that 'at least I'm not buying another expensive watch" ,, hmmmm perhaps flashlights are a gateway drug to watches and porsches ??

please reference my money&wives thread.

i have a knife problem and a flashlight problem. like i have a bunch of boxes to open in a very dark place.

my poor wife. she has a surefire defender in her purse and school backpack. all of our cars have surefire nitrolon..G2 or G3 (the 3 is for very dark nights)..my house has 2 stinger polystingers..and my truck has a 5.11 flashlight just in case the 3 is not enough.

the new regular AA battery flashlights coming out are awesome. inexpensive and awesome.

i have issues.:)

I have about $900 into my bicycle lights (helmet mounted - NiteRider). Two full sets, three battery packs, spare bulb etc.

Slippery slope.

I have a good $500 into my flashlights and can certainly understand the addiction. It started with the Surefire G2, one of which I have in my bike's tank bag and one on a rifle. Then bought a SIG Taclite that was $70 off from the local SIG rep for only $200. It's 900 lumens with a strobe and laser feature. It's too nice to go on a rifle and I use it almost every day around the house and yard. The bedisde Surefire is a C2 Centurion for only $100, which I converted to LED. LOVE IT. I've got a few Chinese cheapos too, which are good for having around the house.

Fenix TK30 and recently bought two TK35s for the Community Patrol guys.

I tried to develop a flashlight addiction (to distract me from the knife and spoon addictions) but they keep falling out of my pockets, and I refuse to wear one on a belt pouch.

My wife always gives me a weird look when she sees how many flashlights I have in random places. I'm cheap though, so they aren't in the same class as some of the lights you guys have. My best are 3D Maglites.

How do you spend $30,000 on flashlights in six months? HF'll give you one free with purchase!

Obviously, you are just not trying!

"need to discover, investigate, understand and improve. "

That seems like a natural thing to do for me. For men anyway. Women have another need.

I have a few laying around, but one main Craftsman rechargeable I have had and depended on for a long time. My flashlight investment is less than $40.

Am I the only one who read the subject as 'fleshlight'?
