Car Stereo with Quality DAC Digital Audio Converter

Is there anything out there comparable to the Alpine units?

I hear Nak is out of the car stereo biz, but that Pioneer has some head units with built in DACs that bypass the ones in the iPhones.

This for a VW Vanagon, and I'd like to get distance FM besides a high quality head unit for running various iPods, iPhones using the best quality schemes those units will run (Apple Lossless I think is their top one right now).

Obviously I want good analog amplification stages as well...
