Heads up, Vonage users!
The other day someone tried and failed to make a $200 charge using my Visa card #...in Massachussets; I live in SoCal.
Sooo, had to get a new card of course, and Vonage emailed me that my monthly transaction didn't go through. I could have gone online and corrected it but called instead; glad I did. After updating my info the girl started on what was going to be a sales pitch, so I interrupted her and told her I've had the same basic service for over 10 yrs and was perfectly happy with the service as is. The girl put me on hold, came back to tell me I'm all set then reduced my monthly rate from $29.16 mo. to $14.99 for 12 months. So I sez, Hey, great and ask, isn't that the new customer deal you've been running on TV. Yes, she sez, But you've been a customer for a long time. If you call back a year from now, I've put in your record that you're eligible for the same deal for another 12 months. I asked if I'd have gotten the same deal if I'd updated my info on line rather than call and she said no. So if you've had Vonage for any length of time, you might want to call and ask. ![]()
