Was never a Ferarri fan but...

...from what I've just heard, in 1954 they had a car (375MM) that had 350 hp and would do ~180mph??? Even today that's impressive.

4.5 Liter engine.

Spyder

Scaglietti Berlinetta

I think this one is a 55

I'm guessing they didn't all go 180mph, but I'd be tickled pink to have or drive any of them.

I've always thought that Ferrari made beautiful cars, especially the old ones.

Ferraris are the highest form of art.

OK, one of the highest.

Pre-war grand prix cars.... if you want to talk about some technologically advanced machines, look no further:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W154

Even after the war, when the rules really changed, over 130 Hp/liter was being achieved on naturally aspirated engines.

This, while the typical road car engines of the time were making 80-120 HP from 3.7-5 liters. It was (and still is) a different level.

What color is it? I know color is subjective, but that 'men's room' green looks awful to my eye.

I agree but if it was yours would you do a colour change? I know I wouldn't. (assuming it's original)

If original color/markings, I'd want to know if/by how much a color change would reduce the value of the car.

Being a zillionaire, I'd probably paint it rossa, return it to original if I sold it (if it mattered - I mentioned I'm a zillionaire. ).

I own three Ferraris, red, yellow and black. They're all garage queens. I'd drive the wheels off all three...if I was 1:18 scale.

Beats pink.

If I had an old Ferrari, it would be Italian Racing Red, an old Jag, British Racing Green, any Bugatti, French Racing Blue, Mercedes, German Racing White or Silver, Cunningham, USA Racing Blue and White.

Me too. I never bothered to check to see which actually came first, but I've always felt that this particular model Ferrari is the car the AC Ace was styled after. I was a fan of both the AC Ace and Aceca, long before Shelby used the Ace as the basis for his Cobra.

Regarding the old Ferraris, I lament the passing of the egg-crate grill on all but a few models...kinda like taking the deer off of the John Deere logo.

Even so, for me the Enzo reigns as the most visually dramatic production Ferrari so far. Few will argue about that but, unlike most Ferraris, some consider it dramatically ugly, others find it dramatically beautiful. To my eye, seeing the Enzo for the first time excited me in a way that only the Countach and the E Type coupe have in my past.

Lime Green 250 GTO was bought by Craig McCaw. What is the chance that he brought it to Seattle? Be nice to see that. Looks good to me.

So, you watched the Chasing Classic Cars "Porsche" episode, too? That was a sweet Ferrari and I loved the sound.

Looks like Wayne didn't do so well on the 911 flip. Funny how he opens by saying he's never been a "Porsh" fan.

+1. The car is more beautiful in RED but the sound is absolutely glorious regardless. It's sound makes the 911 motor sound like a flatulence machine.

Love the less common colors. One of the most striking cars I've ever seen was a celery green Ferrari 308, almost as nice as the black one I fell for! My big issue, is that I generally do not like either red, silver, or BRG - I simply tolerate them.

So an unusual color on a Jag, Ferrari, or Porsche? Works for me!

What hasn't been said about them. They leave me speechless but no disrespect, I'd love to have one of the three 1957 Scarabs:
The Scarab
