Opacity - Abandoned Photography and Urban Exploration


I found this webpage and I wanted to share it. This guy has some wonderful photography of urban decay. I really enjoy this type of imagery. It is dark, gritty and it has a haunting kind of appeal to me. The images really tell a story. There are images of patient papers documenting a man’s life inside a hospital from admission to death. There is a gallery of a GM factory that was abruptly shut down when WWII ended and everything was just left where it sat. I don’t know how this guy does it but he has gained access to some pretty amazing places. He keeps the locations of these places private to protect their integrity. As much as I would love to see some of these first hand. Looking at his photos is good enough.

I knew it was one of the abandoned boardwalks. There are quite a few in that area.

Just down the road from Vinny.

Yup. You were able to walk through the causeway when I took the pic - but not so sure anymore... As a kid I remember riding the carousel & the bumper cars....
