My first truck was a 1948 Chevy.

When I bought it, the seller told me the truck's name was "Lucille", as in "Loose Seal". The 216 c.i. six cylinder engines were notorious for leaking at the rear main seal.

The name was very appropriate.

I'll try to scan a couple pix later.

There's a reason why 80's japanese trucks are still going. Same with 150s.

Mine was a '50. Still a split window and with the small rear window. I don't think the quarter windows had come out yet.

I actually changed that song to: "You picked a fine time to break down Lucille"

I don't remember the words I came up with for the rest, but it sure made people laugh when they heard the whole song. That truck never failed to get me to where ever I was going. Didn't get anywhere fast, but it always got me there. 6 cylider with a "three on the tree" is not eggsactly a hot rod set-up.

I had a 1950, 3100, mine was named Ellie, because she had curves like Ellie Mae Clampett, mine had a 235, I still have some of the 216 parts..

For a newer truck, I like the Chevy's Silverado SS with AWD..

I've had a lot of Dodge trucks, but the only one I miss is my 1972 Dodge D100 Stepside.
