Water Filter for Air Compressor
So much water in system that my media blaster keeps plugging up. Have a water trap, but is not enough. What are you guys using?
|
These are what I used at the place I used to work at. Not cheap but they work great.

The media could also have too much water in it. When was it changed last?

It is probably a stupid comment but here we go anyway!
How often are you draining your tank? Short of a refrigerated drier, you could install what amounts to a condenser on the wall. A series of parallel vertical runs connected with 90s with a drain at the bottom of each. |
Media new ( aluminum oxide). Might have 1.5 hrs use. Limited grease. 80 gal tank, which I usually drain after each significant use, or once a week. I have one of those bowl type filters, doesn't seem to catch a lot. I have an Eastwood soda blaster too which works better as it as another filter on the unit, and that seems to catch a lot.

75 feet of 3/4" pipe helps a lot also.

When I'm doing something for which dry air is important, I add a 50' length of hose in a tub of water right out of the compressor, before the air dryer. One time I even added ice to the water, but I don't know if it made a difference or not. My air line goes out of the compressor and underground for about 20'.
