recommend a pool pump/filter?
Anyone care to recommend a pool pump? Above ground, 54" tall, 24' round (about 12k gallons)
Our first one lasted a while, but died after 8 or 9 years. Second one was cheap but only lasted 2 years... We use chlorine if that makes a difference. Note that this is for my wife... if it were up to me I'd get a few 300gph pond pumps and turn it into a large outdoor aquarium :) |

Both Hayward and Pentair make decent pumps for your application.

Our Jacuzzi pump has been fine for out 30ft above ground for the past 10 years.

Save money and time, tear pool down...one less thing

Pentair with Marathon variable motor

Hayward SP180T sand filter and a Hayward PowerFlo pump work just fine with my 9 year old Doughboy pool (10,500 gallons). DO NOT buy a cartridge filter, the cartridges are harder to clean than sand, are much, much more expensive and are a pain in general!

+1 on hayward.

Hayward EC50AC DE filter with Power Flo XL pump. I've had the same set up for 18 years. I have change the pump seal once.

Which is sorta why I'd like to turn it into a pond :D |
Get one sized for the amount of lift. With an aboveground, you may be able to get a small one and save electricity.
