Matt Cain is perfect
Wow. What a performance. I'm glad the Giants signed him to a long-term deal.
My sister was at the game. Can't wait to ask her about it. |
I watched.....I cheered.....I explained to my spouse that we had just been witness to BASEBALL HISTORY !!!!!
What a game. Gregor Blanco's catch was.....unbelievable. 1st Perfect Game in Giants History going back to 1883 WOW:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D that's what the scoreboard looked like ! |
Glad my Astro's could help. I was watching the game with one eye open in the 5th, realized he was perfect and tried to stay awake to see if he could keep it going. Woke up again in the 8th and click the tv off before heading to bed, didn't check the situation. Wish that I could have stayed up for that one.

Sometimes it's torture, sometimes not so much.
I watched Kevin Brown throw a no no against them, never thought I would see a perfect game, albeit on T.V. Been following them since the late sixties, got me a few Croix de Candelsticks. God I love that game. Go Giants. Now if we could play some defense... |

I wonder if it's more or less stressful having a 10 run lead? On the one hand, he didn't have to worry about losing the game (unless they completely fell apart) on the other hand, that means all his focus was on the fact that he had a perfect game going.

I didn't see the game. NOBODY got on base? A true perfect game?

way to go horse! and by the way,,, unless you are drawing a check from a team the "we" stuff should be left out.... |
[QUOTE=ckissick;6803808]Yes, but they have been much better over the last few weeks. They started winning regularly when they stopped committing so many errors. I'd worry more about Lincecum.[/QUOTE
Timmy will be okay,he is learning to pitch with a different velocity fastball, and right now his mechanics are off.He has great downward movement on all his pitches, and that is something he will learn to harness. He never had great command to the corners, because with 95/97 you don"t need it.He'll come around. Over the weekend with the good Texas team in town;) they played poor defense and lost 2 of 3. of course they also got shut out twice by really good pitching. Torture,it's Giants baseball. |
"and by the way,,, unless you are drawing a check from a team the "we" stuff should be left out"
"We" are the unpaid tenth man. Contact the PR department and have them change the marketing slogan from "We are Giant" to something more appropriate.SmileWavy |

I know this is a bit off the subject, but here in Seattle we had the pleasure of watching Randy Johnson for several years. I personally watched him strike out sixteen hitters pitching a full game against the Blue Jays. He struck out all three batters in the ninth inning, one requiring only three pitches. At times, around the 4th or 5th inning, he went into a zone and became truly unhittable. His fastball was legendary, but his signature pitch was a wicked 90+ mph late-breaking slider that moved sharply down and to his right. At 6'10", and since he was a side-arm pitcher, his slider came across the plate like a throw from first base. A left handed batter, lining up toward the back of the batter's box, might not even be able to reach it when it was a strike. In my humble view, he is on a very short list of the most dominant pitchers in major league history.
