84 days is more than I would need.

Where are you going?

Based on how dry it is here we are already planning on changing our bow strategy. I was about 20 yards from a nice big bull still in velvet this weekend in Estes Park. The only thing I was shooting was the camera though.

I have the same bow, btw.

Arm rotations, fifty one direction, fifty next direction. small circles of one inch to large circles of six inches. Arms kept straight do not bend the elbow. When you can no longer stand it take a rest and start over. Oh, you should be doing about 10 sessions of these per day along with other calisthenics. You wanted arm strength....

You could also go out to talk with any local farmers who are baling hay and lift and carry and throw the bales! Hard work, most people cannot do it! Muscle mass does not matter, stamina does. My Wife outperforms most men and boys year in and year out. She can put up more hay than most and she is not that big. Lift and throw, 60 to 90 pounds per bale.

Absolutely, but be careful of over-training. A visit here will help considerably with the other 80% of getting fit. 84 days is plenty of time.

Whereabouts in Idaho will you be going? Idaho does have some very productive elk habitat. Particularly in the panhandle.

lowyder993s 06-18-2012 09:48 AM

BASTID!!!

I would gladly be your personal trainer and have no mercy as I didn't draw ANY elk this year. It might be a beotch now, but it pays HUGE dividends in that thin air. Let the air outta 1 for me, woulja!!!

VINMAN 06-18-2012 09:50 AM

OTC buddy. got some intel on some elk. you could pick me up with that bad ass duramax as you drive by..haha.

9dre. we are not hoteling it. we will set up a basecamp with a popup trailer..and bivy it up for several days "up there".

the only shot we have of getting one is to get away from people bugling out of their trucks or off ATV's.

i ran 3 miles fairly easy this weekend. but walking up a big mountain..i feel woefully unprepared.
