Bailey is 6 years old; her people left her at a high kill shelter in Texas...she has glaucoma that has never been treated...which means she's in serious pain. Last Tuesday was Bailey's last day at the shelter, and no rescue had stepped up to help her. So ACDRI stepped up. Bailey will be arriving in Portland, Oregon the end of this week. It's most likely that she will need both eyes removed.

Bailey needs your help. At a minimum her surgery will cost close to $1,000; transport is about $350.

Most of what's left of ACDRI's funds is earmarked to cover the remaining medical bills for Bleu Moon dogs; there are ear infections and other medical bills to be covered...the money is not available for other dogs at this time.

Please help us help Bailey...at only 6, she deserves to have a life free of pain, and full of love...

Donations can be sent to the ACDRI paypal account: australiancattledogrescueinc@gmail.com

Quick update from Linda:

incredibly we already have $750!! I won't be able to get a closer cost for the surgery or treatment until tomorrow when I can visit with the vet. We estimated the cost at $1,000 based on the surgery another dog had a couple of years ago. I'm humbled and so very grateful.
Thanks to all who have helped this little girl...I will keep you updated as I know more.....thank you again - you too Bugs!!!

Still waiting for an update on Bailey - will post as soon as I know more.

In the meantime (on the subject of eyes) here's Ellie watching the baby lambs......

Update regarding Bailey from a short time ago......good work folks.....and thank you!!!

....as of 10 minutes ago we have $1,055 sent to PayPal and I've been told a few donations sent via snail mail. I am incredibly humbled at the outpouring of care and concern and support for this little gal...and the speed with which you all have responded.

Am waiting to learn what day she's due to fly to Portland, Oregon and will task Amy Sutter w/ arrival photos!! While we're not fully funded yet, the amount left is about $300. And hopefully that will cover all of her vetting/surgery. "Thank you" just seems so inadequate...but: Thank you!

Cole has some lumps that will require him to go under the knife, please pray for him. 10 years is too young.

Thoughts and prayers for you and Cole, Jim. My eldest girl turned 10 this spring. Yes, they are both too young to leave us.

Please keep us posted....

Nothing but good thoughts and scratches to a positive outcome for Mr Cole.

My little buddy, Harley. 16 years old and acting just like an old man. He has his good days as well as his bad ones, and often frustrates himself that he can no longer bound down the stairs like he did all of his life.

We put his older "sister" down last year after 19 years. I hope we get another three from this one, too.

Great animals, these JRTs.

a month back my old heeler cowboy looked doomed. my girlfriend secretly arranged for a replacement puppy. cowboy recovered, and it looks like he will keep chugging a while longer.

but the new puppy showed up anyway.

of course i'm not going to get them cropped. he is what he is. i just think heeler ears are awesome. he's got a heeler tail, paws and stocky build. the web says it may take six months.

had the kid's track team over last night for some reason. a dozen middle school girls fawned over him for an hour. me, cowboy and t-rex just hid upstairs.

My Aussie has a bobbed tail and we say he is "wagging his nub". when he get's excited, his whole butt wags.
