Need help. Javascript is locking up the computer

This has been going on for a while now and is quite annoying. The result is the hard drive spins for 5-15 minutes and the computer becomes unusable. Happens on different websites and different script errors. I'd like to think it's just bad programming, but it acts similar to a DOS attack and I haven't found similar Firefox complaints on the net.
Weird.

I'm using "NoScript" and "BetterPrivacy", and removed Google from the internal search bar.
MS Security Essentials and Malwarebytes found nothing.

Anyways, here is the partial log:

Try reinstalling the browser(s)...

john70t 06-19-2012 05:28 PM

Tried that and downloaded directly from Mozilla. Thanks. No Google search bar add-on.
FireFox did come with three internal search engine options(links?), and the Google one was removed.

Using WinXP OS, and no Google/Chrome programs installed that I know of.
Little perplexed here as to why chrome scripts are even running....

Could this be caused by individual website designs?
Could Google be somehow archiving directly from ISP servers?

azasadny 06-19-2012 05:32 PM

Not sure, but when that happens to me I just reinstall the browser. All of the browsers get wonky and it's a quick fix...

What happens to your favorites? Are they saved and then retrievable?

john70t 06-20-2012 03:14 PM

Milt, FF has an "export bookmarks as .html" feature complete with descriptions. Editable. Just save, open file, and click on any. Nice feature.

No joy. Oh well.

Searching the end of several of the messages led to this website and suggested to create a new firefox profile. Since I don't use it except when teaching a Linux class I don't know if it will help?
