Handedness Poll

Just think it's time to find out how many folks here are southpaws. I'm expecting it to be slightly higher than 10%, but we'll see.

I think this may get skewed, because typically lefties (like myself)are more sensitive about their handedness and as a result are more likely to ring in and be heard.

Ummmm, I have both right AND left hands :)

Lefty!

JDaniel 05-14-2002 08:59 AM

I think there's a an old correlation with left handedness and criminality... I only use my left hand when I want it to feel like someone else:D

Right bluesky...I expect that kind of thing too. Probably lefties more likely to take the poll as you said.

Almost ambidextrous lefty here.

TimT 05-14-2002 12:44 PM

partial ambidextrious as well

I eat with my left

I write with my right

I use my left and right to hoist the cold ones :p

Lefty But wipe with the right

Kurt B 05-14-2002 01:11 PM

Most lefties are somewhat ambidextrous. You have to be. I write left, throw left, shoot pool left, but bat right. I also tend to have good dexterity using either hand for tools.

HAHAHAHA is there that little to talk about!!!!

I'm another ambi. Throw right, bat left, eat left, shoot right, write left, kick right. Over the years I figured out that when growing up if something pushed me right, I went that way. My brothers had right handed baseball gloves and toy holsters so I went right. A bat, fork, and pencil are neutral so they went left.

Kicking right footed was the true oddity, but I eventually figured out that when my brothers held a football on end for me to kick a field goal, they lined up the way it would be comfortable for them - pushing me to kick right.

I've always had a question about the definition of ambidextrousness, which states "use both hands equally well." OK, I can't write with my right hand or bat right handed so am I truly ambidextrous? Should a true ambi be able to switch back and forth?

Ditto. I think it's because we live in a right handed world, and are forced to do things with the right hands often. (Ex: soup ladels, school desks)

Lefty and proud of it!

PS: My boss is a lefty, and so is his boss. Many people at my workplace are lefties: I've been to meetings where a majority of the people are lefties! Someday, WE WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD Muhahahahah!

I do everything with my right hand and evrything with my left foot.
Where do I fit in?

I have been told that I do use my whole brain though!
