Anyone else watching the Olympics? Wow...great stuff!!!

On NBC.

The trials are going on right now - just watched the women's gymnastics team selection - the men's team were selected earlier.

Tomorrow is swimming.

I get a little choked up watching these young athletes put it all on the line for their countries....;)

Good stuff - possible the very best there is.....:)

Go USA! :D

It's been on all week. Very exciting.

I love the Olympics, but events that are subjectively scored have no appeal for me.

Gymnast, divers etc. are strong, talented performers, but the subjective scoring is a joke.

and synchronized swimming let not get started.

You have a scale of 1 thru 10 and placing is calculated in thousand of a point... the system is broken. Fall off an apparatus and you walk away with a 8.999 and place 25th...its just messed up.

Personally, I think gymnastics is brutal on these girls at such a young age. Did anyone see the girl with the grapefruit swelling on one her surgically repaired knees try to finish her routine. As a parent of 3 girls, it hurts to watch some of this. I still enjoy most of it.

Yeah, Baz, great stuff.

Having competed in HS gymnastics I have massive admiration for what it takes to do what even the women are doing, as far as strength moves. ...Gymnastics is all about strength to weight and precision finesse.

Impressive girls.

My neighbor's daughter Alysia Montano is competing in the 400m and 800m. She was always sprinting up and down the street when she was training to go to Cal.

I'm hoping her parents are able to make it for the opening ceremonies and all the events in London. Alysia Montaņo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gymnastics last night on the uneven parrallel bars, .... BODY SLAM FACEPLANT! nice work Mr. Spotter.

Felt sorry for her but she handled it like a true class act and a champion, even if it didn't work out that way and even though that was the end of her gymnastics career.
Not enough of that kind of class in sports nowadays.
