3 days to build the bike, hell, he could have walked the 20 miles in much less than 3 days.

If he had enough water for 12 days, he had enough to walk 20 miles. You could easily make that trip at night.

I wish the pics showed the tool chest he brought with him. "Shortened the frame". Probably used sand encrusted dental floss to saw through the frame. I call BS.

Maybe it was so rusty that he was just able to fold it back and forth where he wanted to "cut" it until it broke. ;)
