Happened to me. My dog got blasted and then ran thru our house. Her eyes were watering and she was drooling. My House was heavily perfumed by the odor. I tackled the dog and scrubbed her down with the closest bottle of shampoo. It worked very well. For the house I burned toast. I let my toaster set two pieces of bread on fire. The carbon pulled the skunk smell out fast. Just open the windows to let the smoke out.

Is there anything Toast can't do?

Yea, I've encountered them in close proximity on a few occasions and they've always been friendly and seemingly nonchalant about my presence; never any aggression shown toward me at all. I suspect that when a dog comes after them and corners them, it's DEFENSE time. The result is awful.

yep, a few years ago I was searching for some grade stakes and came face to face with a large Skunk. I could have kicked him he was so close. His hair stood up like Don Kings and he looked straight at me. Couldn't run (feet wouldn't work) so all I could think of was to talk to him. Don't remember what I said (Have a nice day?) But the hair went down and he walked off. I beat a hasty retreat.

Lots. That's why there is bacon!

Wow, I never heard of the burnt toast remedy. That's a pretty cool idea!

I once had a family a family visit from Hawaii. They brought all this seafood and cooked it at our place. It smelled like a fish market with the garbage can food scraps. The toast saved us. Carbon is good juju!
