BIL looking for Pcar-opinions on this one

Tried talking into an aircooled, but he prefers cars that start and have AC. (imagine that) He is looking at this 08 and would like some input wrt the TN dealer and car. Thanks for your time.

Man 997's are getting cheap. And only 9k thousand miles? That thing has had to of been hit at one point.

Something is way, way wrong here.

A 2008 Carrera S 6 speed Black/Black with all the right options and only 9K miles for $40,100?!?

There's zero chance that's a straight car with no history.

Otherwise I'd buy it myself for $40,100 and take it straight to the auction and make several thousand dollars tomorrow. Heck, I could probably make some calls and wholesale it for a $5K profit today.

A flawless, white one with 5K miles brought $62,000 *wholesale* at Manheim, PA two weeks ago

They're a dealer. They're not that stupid. Red flags everywhere.

Maybe the P.O. found pieces of IMS bearings during the last oil change and is offloading it quick ;-)

I'm waiting for 09s myself, it's gonna be a few years..

The 993 has good a/c and starts all the time. The bottom won't fall out of them either.

You are correct aigel, it was a poking of fun at my own 911 which has sat idle for about a year.

If he gets the 996/997 I can still brag about having the prettier car just not the fastest one.

Even a ten year older 993 with 9K miles is more than $40K

Exactly my point.

Who is all going to check out that car right now? A bargain find at a dealership? That never happens. The guys working there would buy it before any outside customer could lay their hands on it.

I'm so sorry sir! You just missed that car, it sold this morning. We have many other fine vehicles to show you, so come on down!
