More vicious than strange. Sadly, some of the wing-nuts can't seem to contain their anger and unhappiness on PARF and think it's OK to personally attack on a benign thread about skateboard reminiscing.

Must be a real b!tch being so conservative and getting old.

Byron has earned the respect of the Pelican community. You two idiots have not. Byron is an asset to our community. You two idiots are not.

I think it's funnier than hell that right when the conversation turned to what utter losers skaters can be, dipshyte showed up exactly on que. I'm still laughing my ass off on that one.

I never call names unless I'm called names first by some or another f-cking moron who can't express themselves more intelligently, you f-cking moron.

WTF is it with your ilk wanting to get non-political threads bounced over to PARF all the time?

kwyjibo 07-10-2012 02:11 PM

back to the bones brigade...

That clip with Peralta sums it up nicely - I grew up in SJ with Steve Caballero, most of my friends wanted to be like Cab and Hosoi: smooth and flowing. Not many fans of Tony Hawk in my neighborhood. Tony is technically the best skater - ever, no doubt. He could invent and do the tricks, but guys like Steve and Hosoi made the tricks look good. When I was in high school, we used to go down to Del Mar and Upland regularly, most of the Brigade guys were pretty cool. I do get curious as to what happened to them, I'm looking forward to the flick, thanks for pointing it out.

btw, this thread is not so off-topic... Steve used to drive around in a 914.

i was never a big fan of flat land freestyle so never paid much attention to Rodney Mullen. He is still out there and has incorporated his tricks with street skating and is doing it very well, especially considering his age and injury. There are a few interviews with him on youtube which i watched and found interesting, and inspiring. Im now a big fan of his and his life story

I was always a fan of both Hosoi and Tony Hawk

There is a recent video of Tony skating a pool where he wipes out and cuts his shin and his bone is showing. He tapes it up and keeps skating. I had to look away. gruesome

If there was every a sports guy that kids should look up to, its Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen

Gator, Hosoi and Jay Adams, probably not so much but hey, we all have our problems and i still respect their contributions to the sport

My 911 has 3 skateboards in the trunk at all times...just in case:cool:

While not all of us go the route that they have, those of us who skated back in the day still remember out roots. when I went to the Kona 30th party, I joked that Kona hasn't seen so much Gray hair since our grandparents dropped us off back in the 70s.. Not all the adult skaters are losers who can only work labor jobs, many are white collared & business owners.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1341944771.jpg
Beats driving to the local Pub...

One of my other childhood Buddies, he is closing in on 50, owns a successful advertising firm, married a very smart, hot wife, who has her own very successful career, both are college grads, and living the dream...

Course he is also a cyclist, so he also keeps in shape with that & surfing since he home is only 3 house from the ocean, in a very nice area too.. So not all skaters grow up to be losers..

Here's Christian right here in the green hat. This is at a little Mexican restaurant by my house.
I see Christian all the time.

i see him...its great he has straightened out his life...same for Jay Adams who is also pictured above in this strange thread

Jeff Higgins 07-10-2012 03:07 PM

You two need to wash the sand out of your vaginas and quit sniveling like a couple of little girls. I'm quite sure the guys of the Bones Brigade would have never put up with a couple of whiney bytches like you.

Speaking of whom, this looks like the makings of a great movie about some guys with a passion for what they did. Guys who made a difference, and a real impression in a world that is important to them. My hat's off to those guys. Although I'm not a skater, I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. I can appreciate anything that is done well, by talented, creative people. I do honestly find it amazing just what these guys can do on their skateboards.

At least they're not trolling skate parks at dawn in hopes of finding young boys who are skipping school to skate...

Nobody's "whining" on this thread but you; you're engaging in projection. It's a psychological term. Look it up.

You're also accusing a poster here of being a pedophile. Unless you can back up that accusation you ought to STFU before your sick troll posts are brought to the attention of a moderator and he shuts you up.

It won't be me who "whines" () to a moderator, but I guarantee you call me a pedophile and I won't hesitate for a NY second to bring your sick behavior to the attention of the moderators, who, I'm pretttty sure, will deal with you appropriately.

Jeff Higgins 07-10-2012 04:35 PM

Gotta love it - Pelican's favorite troll has been trolled by a rank amateur, with entirely too predictable results. That was way, way too easy. A half hearted, disinterested effort on my part soon had him crying like a little girl. How boring. What a humorless, overly sensitive little twit.

What I couldn't predict, however, was his Significant Other's rising to his defense - and the same bait. Geez DARISC, you're getting far more riled up about this than dippy (did I strike a nerve somewhere? Hit too close to home on something?). I guess you're just too angry, stupid, and equally humorless to see the obvious. So, yes, by all means - when mommy picks you up at the skate park on her way home from work, be sure to tell on me. Doesn't she ever wonder why none of your "friends" are old enough to drive you home?

dipso 07-10-2012 04:51 PM

Jeff, your attempt at trolling is covered in weaksauce. All you have done is embarrass yourself. You are the only person causing a riot in that giggle factory you call a head.

For the the serious posters, not that this is my thread or anything. I see Tony when I am down south, of course he is healthy and still tearing things up.
I see Lance quite frequently. Last time i saw him we were trying to figure out that new octopus thing with the clamshell at Etnies Lake Forest.
Lance is doing well.
Christian is good.

Jeff is an ass.

I was just looking at my FB page and my friend Leo sent me this.

I am sure it is just another loser for Jeff/lazy fatbody to make fun of.
After all, the photographer has a tattoo.

Still no moms, minivans, or thugs. But in Jeffs confusion factory they are everywhere.
