I Got Just What I Needed
 

For the past few months I have had to take frequent leaks with urgency. The problem had escalated to causing me some pain and having my Colon to go into spasm. So after visiting a friend on Monday who is terminally ill with the Big C, I decided it was well past time to go in to see the Doc to get the results of some Lab work I had done earlier, including the PSA and A1C tests. Needless to say I was feeling a whole bit of anxiety

I am happy to report that the PSA test came back as being A OK. However the Doc wanted to check the Prostrate, so he told me to drop my Drawers and Bend over so that he could Rectally Probe me with his finger. I told him, "DOC give me a GOOD THRILL" . While he had his finger up my rectum I exclaimed , "OUUUU this is the best THRILL I have had in a long time." When the Doc had finished having his way with me he said, "Everything felt normal to him." So I can honestly say that I got just what I needed as all the pain and spasms have gone away since the visit. So I highly recommend being Rectally Probed by a Doc for any guy over the age of 50. It will give you a whole new perspective on what it means to be a man. :DSmileWavy

The hemoglobin A1C he mentions gives a good approximation of your average blood sugar over the last three months. Sugar binds to hemoglobin, RBC "lives" about 90 days, ipso facto, percentage of hemoglobin bound to sugar gives a very educated guess at average blood sugar levels.

I have read that PSA is a sort of BS metric, an educated finger can tell you a lot.

Wouldn't you be really pissed at yourself if at age fifty you had your first digital rectal exam and you found out you really liked it? Think of all the opportunities you missed over the last 35 years.

Acht Zooo...now you have caught what I did not say on purpose...and had left a clue about with my A1C piece of info. The real cause of the frequent and urgent need to take a leak is that my A1C was a bit high. That was causing my Blader to put in over time which was causing my spasms.

This whole Thread was designed to solicit salacious comments while informing about the need for Prostrate checkups.

While ther is controversy about the PSA, I view it as a first line of defense, and the recta Probing the second line.

Before last years rectal exam I asked my doctor to use two fingers. I wanted a second opinion. :D

I says Prostrate..cause that is the position you are in when the finger goes up your Rectum....
