In all seriousness:
Some do not realize that we are perishing here, those who do bring to rest their quarrels

Take what you need and leave the rest/
and never, no never, take the very best.

I totally agree.

Monk number one should have told monk number two to STFU and decided who was right after a fist fight in the car park after six beers in the bar.

Seriously monk number two was just jealous that he didn't think of the idea and get to accidently squeeze the hooties breasts as he gallantly carried her accross the river.

Before you go putting Buddha on a pedestal learn his story. He had a very strange "beginning". No way he had a chance at a normal life. Not that his quest for inner peace was wrong.

If I can't fix it, it's BROKE!

It's amazing what you can do when you have no choice.

My mainstays over the years:

Second place is the first loser.
Pain is only temporary....
If it is not right it is wrong.
Don't tread on me.
Never forget (especially 9/11)

In recent years since turning 40, I especially like this one for motivation when I occasionally feel like taking a nap vs working on a toy:

Men do not quit playing because they get old... they get old because they quit playing.

accept what is....and don't believe your thoughts

Everything you do - nobody cares except family and close friends. Everything you've done will be forgotten after you die. Your existence on this Earth as individual will mean nothing once you've died.

So enjoy life while you're here and make the best of it. Your existence is 1 in ~6,000,000,000+ humans and ~100 of 4,500,000,000+ years of history. You're not important so don't spend time trying to impress others.

Life's too short to get your bowels in an uproar (over whatever molehill you're trying to make into a mountain)

Sometimes you are the bug...

Sometimes you are the windshield...

People of mediocre ability often achieve extraordinary results because they don't know enough to quit.

you better have a plan for its teeth
