Well the label says Made in Korea.

Don't assume from it that the model is CS7. I don't think they'd denote in that cheap a manner.

Unless it's marked CS7 somewhere else my guess is CS7 is the quality control inspectors stamp.

Put a nice set of new strings on it, double its value and donate it to a beginner guitarist. You'll feel good, but that's good, too!

I'm thinking it's generic but my Blue Book is at the shop.
Is that some initials on the black piece next to the body?
Post more photos if you want a cold-hearted pawnbroker's opinion.

That's the heel cap. I doubt the maker would put their initials there. Maybe a prior owner.

from what I can tell it's seems to be a bruno conqueror..... from the early 70s, and it seems there was a large lawsuit our something having to do with copyrights or something along those lines......I'll get some better pics tomorrow of any details.....kinda wet here right now lol

Well I know a fair bit about guitars and I'd say that's a Conqueror. Acoustic if I'm not mistaken.

Interestingly, they were made in Korea when around that time a lot of other acoustics were made in countries such as Japan, USA, Canada or other countries. Martin were also made then and at other times. Taylor are great guitars that have similarities in the shape and wood formation.

Conqueror made a model called the CS7 in the early times before they diversified, and I think they are worth a lot more than what people claim they used to be. That's a great example and I would hang on to it if I was the owner. People may low-ball, but I'd hang out for the original asking price or higher.

Hope that helps.

I've got a Bruno Ventura, from the same era (early '70's). Luthier says they have no value. "Wall art" he says.

It's probably not worth a whole heck of a lot. As far as lawsuits go, those usually applied to Takamine's Martin and Guild clones from the 70's although a lawsuit was never initiated they are still called 'Lawsuit" guitars.

It would make a great camping guitar or a beater to keep around the house, it probably has some decent tone, maybe solid top, laminated back and sides? Usually with Korean and Japanese guitars, an "S" in the model number meant solid top as opposed to laminate.

Don't most acoustic guitars have a similar shape and wood formation? Or is this where a fair bit of guitar knowledge comes in?

Is this whole post supposed to be in green font? Or were mushrooms involved?

From the Blue Book:

"Conqueror acoustics in average condition are valued around $50-$100"

but they are talking about ones made in Japan, probably less for Korean made.

Kaisen, green font is too obvious for my Kiwi sense of humour. We like our font dark, like ebony.

Takamine did indeed copy Martin's acoustic guitars, including and especially the structural pieces behind the spruce top which Martin had patented and Takamine was made to back off. But I think the "lawsuit" legend had more to do with Japan's unabashed copying of various American brand name electric guitars and basses. Frankly, some of those copies are VERY accurate copies and were made to higher quality standards than Gibson and Fender were practicing at the time. The resemblance to Gibson, Fender and Rickenbacker flagship instruments was uncanny. I believe Gibson went after Ibanez on the basis that copying of the Gibson "open book" headstock was a blatant attempt to represent copies as originals.

You're right about the Gibson/ Ibanez, the "Lawsuit" guitars did have the headstock....

Takamine REALLY copied Martin and Guild. Although a lawsuit was never filed, a stern letter was sent. But "Stern Warning" guitars just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I've owned both a 6 and 12 string Takamine "Martin" and they're not bad guitars. So there's the "Lawsuit Guitar" lesson of the day. Back to our regularly scheduled thread....

Get a gig with a band in some seedy club somewhere, then smash the guitar at the end of the set. I've always wanted to do that.

Put it in your car. Break the window. Tell your insurance company it was a Gibson.
Ask $50 take $30 if you sell it.
