I have no idea how/where to check proxy settings. I'm weak in computer literacy. I'm thinking there is a virus in this thing. I am having several problems with it. I need a good scan and better protection. Suggestions?

Do this: Open a command prompt and type "sfc /scannow" This will pickup the corrupted system files left after the program was removed.
