Alcohol is all sugar. Just what we all need.
My opinion is that if you can't feel 6 and two doesn't do it for you, you shouldn't really be going over two. BTW, just because you can't feel them doesn't mean that everyone around you isn't aware of how many you have had. Many of us have cut down or quit as we got older. Now when I go to a cocktail event, I will hang around until the majority starts to get sloppy or stupid, then I leave. None of them feel it either. I'm not saying it is wrong, just observable. |

It went well. Best party of the summer for me. I did drink less than normal, though.
I had a big glass of water before heading out. Upon arrival, everyone (natch) had a shot of Patron. I had a couple of vodka tonics during cocktails, but then only had a beer with dinner, and drank water the rest of the night. Was in a pretty nice zone for an hour or so, so that was good. Not even the hint of a headache or any other issues. DanielDudley - alcohol is all sugar?!? How can that be? There are zero carbs in vodka, whiskey, gin, etc. I can't see how something can no carbs, and sugar at the same time. |
Alcohol that we drink (ethanol) is not all or even partly sugar. It is a distinct compound from the other possible energy sources we consume (fats, carbohydrates like sugar, and proteins). Has almost as many calories per gram as fat, and is soluble in fats or oils AND water. Lots of interesting characteristics.
