Quiick mortgage refi doc queston
I just finished signing all the crap for my refi. There was a form at the very end which was kind of strange. It was titled"Statement of Information" with the tagline "Completion of this form will expedite your order and will help protect you" It wanted previous addresses, jobs, wives, etc - almost like an employment app. The notary said it was part of the Patriot Act.
What is this form really for?

Sounds like it would ease the title company's lien search. Could be wrong, though.
