Tupperware lids and containers

This is one of the things that make my skin crawl. It seems the lids never match the container. The companies keep changing the size, shape, and whatever else. I want to scream when I put food away! I'm sure this is a ploy by (the companies) to get us all to buy more and more. Reminds me of the movie "Father of the bride" with Steve Martin where he is in the grocery store buying hot dogs (10 in a pack) and buns (8 in a pack)
Pisses me off!

Sorry... Having a marital moment with the wife on the condition of the "(&*%$&% Tupperware drawer!!!)

Phewwww RANT over...Carry on....

Prior to moving , I threw enough out-due to matchless- to make a new Fiero.

Chinese takeout.

Get pints and quarts of soup.

Keep containers.

Last forever.

Lids are interchangeable.

Free.

Tell the wife to put the food away. Works for me! :)

I finally went to a restaurant supply store and bought 2 different sized containers that use the same lids. I bought 100 containers and 100 lids and they last forever and no longer do I freak the fvkc out trying to match a lid with a container. I got them here which is about 10 minutes from me.

You are obviously NOT wed to a Comanche woman! Powder keg comes to mind!

My solution... Friggen buy it all new and start over.

Unfortunately not - she probably knows how to clean trout and small game you bring home from your fishing and hunting trips??? :)

Mine actually knows how to clean game but refuses to.

Aluminum Foil......

sc_rufctr 08-12-2012 06:38 AM

Never bought any. I just use cling wrap over bowels or plates although having leftovers is rare in my house

My kids and their friends are like a pack of hyenas at dinner time. Honestly scary

For hard things like cheese. I know they are strong and the seal is good, but there is something about putting soup in a bag. Ya know what I mean?

No, thats for my hat. ;)

Zip locks are nice but like Zeke said, not so much for soups unless you are going to freeze them.

I like Gassy's idea of two sized containers that take the same lids.

Last night I had just had it trying to find a matching lid for the container I had already put the food in.

My wife absolutely loves to cook and is good at it. There are always leftovers in our house. I'm a very lucky man to have her!

Tupperware needs to make something to store tupperware in. Our drawer is a pile and the ONLY thing my OCD wife does not concern herself with.

Not always...extreme circumstances require extreme measures.

Temporary abdominal closure using an i.v. bag silo for severe trauma.
Fox VJ, Miller J, Nix AM.
Source
Trauma Service, Trinity Mother Frances Health System, Tyler, Tex., USA.
Abstract
Patients with severe abdominal trauma injuries can have improved outcomes if a priority-oriented approach is taken to surgical intervention. This includes temporary abdominal closure and planned reoperation to complete complex, lengthy procedures when the patient is stabilized. Temporary abdominal closure can be achieved safely and cost-effectively by using a presterilized 3-liter cystoscopy fluid i.v. bag. This article discusses the rationale for temporary abdominal closure and planned reoperation, physiologic considerations in abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS), abdominal injuries or conditions leading to ACS, and manifestations of ACS. It compares and contrasts various materials used for temporary abdominal closure, illustrates bag preparation and silo application and removal, and analyzes complex intraoperative and postoperative nursing activities.
