pre-fab metal car ports

So I need a covered place to store my truck camper and I've been thinking about these pre-made metal car ports. I stopped by a local seller yesterday and a 12 x 21 with 10' legs ( for 13' height at peak ) is about $1000.00 including setup. Supposedly rated for up to 120mph winds and 20 lb. per s.f. snow load not that we get a lot of snow in Georgia. Sounds like a fair price for what it is just wondering what you guys think ? I am not going to pour a concrete pad probably just bring in a bobcat to grade the dirt level and fill in some gravel. From what the seller was telling me they anchor these similar to what is used for a mobile home.

So basically a metal pole barn. Would the more rustic look of hand built and wood serve your needs better?

They are hard to beat for the price. You don't need a permit, and all you need is to make sure you do have good anchors. Putting down a vapor barrier, and dumping some gravel over it would be good, but not essential.

I do plan on putting down a couple layers of vapor barrier and have them install over it. Then once in place do the gravel. This would be in the corner of my lot so protected on one side by a wooden fence and the other side by a storage shed. Also under the canopy of several trees so I don't think the wind conditions are a major concern but still want it anchored properly. I agree the price makes them very attractive as I just don't have the time to do stick built.........too many projects .
