Anyone else think this guys days at CNN are numbered?

He's such a light-weight, oleagenous, brown-nosing narcissist. Makes Larry look brilliant in retrospect.

My buddy (the one whose motorcycle I'm hiding in my garage) is a big fan. He says it's refreshing to have a foreigner's perspective on US issues. I find Piers to be a lot less irritating than Larry King, but then I've never spent more than two min. at a time watching either one. I like Anderson Cooper a lot and sort of watch him at night out of sympthy because his ratings suck so bad and I want to boost them a little.

Piers on CNN started well enough but over the last year has become a rather narrow minded twit pushing his own ideals and agenda. Do not want.

Had to look it up: Oleaginous (sorry, you spelled it wrong - minus 1 point): containing oil; unctuous; fawning; smarmy.

Nothing against the British but there are a lot of English accents lately for instance on Fox news, Piers Morgan and of course the Acura ads. for suvs. I was born in the UK and I like the Canadian/American accents. These imports are used because they think that it will promote their interests. Call me a bigot but these accents turn me off as they have a built in class system. If you don't have the right accent in the UK you may not get the job - I find that extremely sad but was true but may have changed. I like Larry King. Piers Morgan has become a lightweight. I will shut up now!

I don't watch television, (with some rare exceptions), so I've never seen this guy. I did see Larry King once or twice. Larry is one seriously smart dude, i think that he really dumbed himself down a bit for television, and frankly, not to be condescending to his guests.

Did anyone listen to him back in his radio days? He was sharper than a scalpel but he could be brutal with call-in guests.

Morgan needs to go along with that other chic with a British accent. If I want to listen to news with a British accent I'll listen to BBC.

But he has a heavy-weight voice...right up there with Mike Tyson's.

He can also be annoyingly mucilaginous.

The guy from Larry King Live? For his tombstone, he should choose, "Larry King Dead".

I tune in periodically - especially when there's a guest (or guests) I want to hear.

I really don't care if he stays or goes....if I reach my pain threshold - I can always change channels - right?

CNN has become opinionated with sensationalism. It's no longer unbiased news reporting. Morgan's job fits CNN's direction. Actually, for TV news and even of happenings in America, I like the BBC.

I think you summed him up pretty well....I've suspected for awhile he's not in for the long term.

Can't believe that Piers has skated so well through the whole Daily Mirror cellphone-hacking thing. He's likely up to his neck in it... must be his oleaginosity.

I can't find the link but I saw once that one of his higher profile interviews only had like 200,000 viewers...total. He has some of the lowest ratings on CNN. I doubt he will be around much longer.

edit: this is nt the exact article, but dropping from 521,000 viewers in the 24-35 demo to now only getting 39,000 is bad news

Everyone talks about his Bio of a Space Tyrant series, but I only thought it was OK. The book I likes best was On a Pale Horse. The rest of the Incarnation series were just ok. I agree, he hasn't done anything interesting in years.

I don,t like Piers very much, too bad Bill Maher is so busy with HBO. he was always pretty good as a sub host for Larry.
