				help me fix a chair

Got a few dining room chairs that the seats have been disconnected from the frame. Tried "fixing" a while back by gluing oak dowels in place of the little slivers they came with, and it lasted a year or so. Gotta fix 'em again. This time I'm thinking drill out the bottom of the seat a little bit and glue in a nut, and then use a short piece of all thread instead of a dowel. This a good idea, or is there a better way? Thanks!
