Original Doobie Brothers-40 years later

Still have sweet harmonies. No need for auto tune with these guys.

They had good radio songs back in the '70s, I always thought this was their high point:

Oh don't worry, it's most likely touched up a bit. Sounds great, though!

Thanks guys for posting the video/sound track.
That is one of the very few recordings I ever purchased way back in the day.

I need to set up my old stereo so I can listen again...

Excellent video. Thanks for the memories. Back in my days as a young many I had a lot of good times while the Doobies (and so many other bands) were playing in the background.
My favs included China Grove, It Keeps You Running and Blackwater:

Love the doobies.
No surprise. I think Skynyrd is down to one original member and he was not exactly the shining star, even back in the day. Love the original Doobies, also.

Some reunion bands are having a good time with memories and some are trying too hard to be young again. I saw Skynard on TV and they were trying too hard. Same with the Who at a SuperBowl a few years ago. Shame. They used to be a great band.

And some are just a train wreck. The Beach Boys for example, Mike Love just fired 3 original members including Brian Wilson. There wouldn't be a Beach Boys without Brian.

I think the Doobies are one of the better "oldies" bands touring, although I haven't seen Creedence Revisted, Skynyrd, Canned Heat and some of the others.

I saw them like 20 years ago at Merriweather Post Pavillion. It was a lot of fun. Looks like they are still using the two drum kits. Cool.

I saw this thread early this Sunday Morning. It warmed my innards. Set the tone for a very gooooood day. Now I am feeling a little devilish. Here is the deal; let's post this in PARF and make all the sour pusses feel good about something. It will piss them off and they will deserve it.

Oh, thanks for posting a great band from good time's long gone!

Good stuff.

NICE post and video Kurt - thank you!

Been a HUGE Doobie fan since Touluose Street came out on vinyl. Then I went out and bought their first album "The Doobie Brothers" - and then every one since.

IMHO their very best was "Takin' It To The Street".

Skunk Baxter and Michael McDonald's contributions and of course the best was when Tom Johnston returned to the band.

Those really were the days....
