cop hits 69 yr old judge
|
This is the part that catches my attention.
“To be in a situation where somebody smashes you in the neck and just walks away from it because they are a police officer — when I did nothing to provoke this attack — I feel it’s dangerous, not just for me but for any other citizen, because officers end up feeling that they can do anything and that there will be no consequences,” Justice Raffaele said. “I think it has a bad effect on the police force because they feel there are no consequences.” He said he believes most officers are “very honest and are out there trying to protect us, but a crazy guy like this who is out of control should not be walking around out there with a gun and a badge.” Its important that cops have each others back, they do find themselves in situations where that is what they need to count on. Unfortunately when taken too far it adds to the growing distrust in the citizenry. Its the occasional bad cop that takes advantage of this immunity that make it harder for all of them and us. Hmmm, imagine that. A policeman not being charged for using excessive force. Next thing you know they'll be shooting dogs.

Or forty rounds into some guy on the street with mental problems. I guess he had a knife or piece of pipe. but wasn't making threatening moves in their direction.

The weeding out out plan is broken
they should decimate [old roman 10% useage] the rookies every year and maybe 5% of the older cops get the bad ones out the sad ones the fat ones thieves molesters and grafters the job need far more turn over |

The more and more I think about things like this, the more and more I feel that unions that protect people who should be in jail or unemployed should be abolished...
|
Yeah! Remember the good old days, before unions?

Public employee unions either should not exist, or should be banned from making political contributions |
