Just picked it up last night.
Parked since 1981 with 6888 miles.
GF made him park it when they got married, and sell it when they had kids!!

I dont know much about them, but it appears pretty original and all (most) there.

Time to find a Sprint BBS and figure out what to do.

That's very cool....it took 'em 31 years to have kids :)?

Engine looks like a Duc, less a cylinder.

Cool. Built under contract for Hardly-Davidson by Aermacchi in the factory there by the shore of Lake Garda, if memory serves - the same factory that built Cagivas for years. That is one very cool addition to your stable and looks to be in reasonable shape. Lucky you!

It rode a buddies Sprint in the woods in 1967. I about killed myself due to the the brake being on the left (wrong) side.......Every time I went for the brake, I upshifted. Beware......

actually ran some in the baja 1000 with harley davidson logo on them. rare as hens teeth in decent condition.

A little research shows a Sprint won 4 Isle of Man races back in the day and several 250 and 350cc championships. Cool stuff.
Who wudda thunk a little bit of hp in a light weight platform could do so well? :D

I only paid a couple hundred bucks, so if I cant find parts and get her running, she will become decoration!

Wow, blast from the past! I had a 350 HD Sprint (my baby sporster) back in 74/75, and loved it. Not fast off the line, but a wonderful, steady climb to the top! It was a great bike.

I have a 1973 AMF Harley Davidson (Aermacchi) 350 in my shop right now. It belongs to an airplane customers friend. He brought it in with no spark after acquiring from his father who had bought it new then at some point parked it after only putting about 2000 miles on it. I put a new condensor in it, cleaned the points, put a new spark plug in it, and cleaned the tank/carb. I also tore the switches apart and cleaned them up. Runs great and he is picking it up tonight.

I cleaned it up a little, but he did not want to pay me for anything more than getting it running. (I would love to detail this thing out, but he does not want to pay for nor would he appreciate my level of detail ;))

O-U, it must have kicked yer ass.

The Rapido was a 125cc 2 stroke, combo street/offroad bike. Offroad since it had two rear sprockets, the normal one, and a larger inner one that could be moved out to cover the normal one. It came with an extra section of chain to add in to accomodate the larger sprocket. It also had a high pipe. I had a 71 back in the early 70's. They were also built by Aermacchi.

The engine electrics were a bit dodgy, and I remember pushing it home a lot.:D

Your approach to getting her running sounds similar to what I am thinking, but I may also add brakes and tires. 45 year old tires scare me a little bit!!

Yes, The Rapido was the two-stroke version that came after the 4 stroke Sprint was dropped in 1969. AMF owned HD from 1969 to 1981:

In 1960, Harley-Davidson consolidated the Model 165 and Hummer lines into the Super-10, introduced the Topper scooter, and bought fifty percent of Aeronautica Macchi's motorcycle division.Importation of Aermacchi's 250 cc horizontal single began the following year. The bike bore Harley-Davidson badges and was marketed as the Harley-Davidson Sprint.The engine of the Sprint was increased to 350 cc in 1969 and would remain that size until 1974, when the four-stroke Sprint was discontinued.

Harley-Davidson replaced their American-made lightweight two-stroke motorcycles with the Aermacchi-built two-stroke powered M-65, M-65S, and Rapido. The M-65 had a semi-step-through frame and tank. The M-65S was a M-65 with a larger tank that eliminated the step-through feature. The Rapido was a larger bike with a 125 cc engine. The Aermacchi-built Harley-Davidsons became entirely two-stroke powered when the 250 cc two-stroke SS-250 replaced the four-stroke 350 cc Sprint in 1974.

Harley-Davidson purchased full control of Aermacchi's motorcycle production in 1974 and continued making two-stroke motorcycles there until 1978, when they sold the facility to Cagiva.

So i finally sourced some missing carb pieces and tried to fire her up.
Kick starter is VERY difficult to move.
Pulled the plug and sprayed oil in cylinder.
Still VERY difficult to move.
She had obviously fallen on that side at least twice.
Could something be jammed?
What should I do? Take off cover and see what's inside?
Sorry if stupid question, but I have never worked on bikes before.
Tried a sprint forum and nothing but crickets!
I know there are some good MC wrenches here.

Also, while looking for a parts bike, I found one in better condition than what I had.
This one even runs.

Hard to kick over after having fallen on that side? What I would do:

1) Pull plug, elevate rear wheel and turn it over with the rear wheel in a higher gear. If kickstarter is damaged, it may turn over easily. Then pull the side case and inspect kickstart components (could be a bent shaft?). Also check gear/(chain) drive from crankshaft to clutch.

2) If still turns over hard, pull the head to inspect the cylinder/piston.

3) If still a problem, remove piston/cylinder.

4) If still hard, it will require a complete tear down to split the cases and get to the crank bearnings.

I've got three 1966 M50's,

They are great bikes for the intended use and time period. You can still find some parts, just need to do some digging. Hopefully nothing too serious as the cost to put parts a bike in running condition way exceeds the value.
