Tough Question: Finacial aid related
Coming time to finish up on the my undergrad, (about time) and I am having a tough time figuring out a question. Have searched far and wide on the interwebs and cannot seem to come to a conclusive answer.
Facts: Employer pays for tuition up to $25,000 lifetime. Only $5,000/academic year Can I receive money from my employer AND also receive a grants/financial aid that I don't have to pay back? Are there certain tax reasons why I cannot do this?My goal is to be completely debt free once I finish my undergrad. Many thanks, -Tom

If you fill out the FAFSA, it will tell you what you qualify for.

[QUOTE] Coming time to finish up on the my undergrad
I don't understand Texan lingo. Will you be in school this upcoming school year, at least half-time? Most employers who do this will reimburse you for expenses you have already paid. So yes, you are eligible for grants and financial aid, and you do *not* have to report the reimbursement $$ to your f.a. office, since your f.a. is based on your income from last year. _ |

I am currently a part time student since I work full time. It appears that you are correct. It just seems strance; feels like I am double dipping the system.
I guess if I can legally obtain funds from two different sources I may as well.

Unless their rules prohibit it. Some tuition programs require that they be the last payer and don't pay if you get the money through another program/scholarship. ROTC is one example of this..
