Nouveau spam-bots

Nouveau spam-bots.

What are they trying to accomplish? They have a link in the page to a blank picture. Wayne's board translates them into blank pictures.

Do these count as web-hits? Are the links counted in someway for search engines?

What is the purpose?

I'd like to to know what the purpose of spam friend requests on facebook is.

Maybe they are in beta mode.

Thank you for posting this thread on Nouveau. It certainly is a very interesting subject, I am sure, and will gain a lot of attention in the future for sure. Did I happen to tell you I met a wonderful man on www.marryarichsugardaddy.com and all my dreams have come true. We are so happy and you can too just by visiting the website. It's so easy to join, and only needs a credit card for quick age verification and then your in.

Facebook spam friend requests allow spammers to tag you in posts and those spam posts are then sent out to all of your friend's news feeds.

I recently had a FB friend that all of the sudden seemed to have a high interest in shoes.... not that there is anything wrong with that! :D

Many of those links are not actually pictures, but appear to be so. Often they refer to a PHP file which attempts to execute a malicious script.

The other side is them just trying to get inbound link pointers to some website to increase search engine rank...

THe admin's here (myself included) probably delete at least 20 of these a day. We have a tool to delete all posts byt he offending user at one time and then ban them immediately. However it doesn't do much good because they use rotating random userid's and IP addresses. Diligence is the key..
