I guess LA is really broke
|
I'm shocked that they're going to charge someone who was electrocuted? I can see this has the potential for negative publicity.
|
Revolting.
|
thats because the past GOV. "AHH-NOLD-NATOR"(arnold) USED UP EVERY BIT OF MONEY LEFT IN THE STATE PAYING THE KALIF ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE FOR LEGAL ADVICE ON HIS DEE-VORCE!
the honorable GOV. "MOONBEAM" i'm sure will take care of this. |
It's one of those weird situations where there is no way to prevent the normal billing for ambulance services or no exception clause in the law or (??). Either way, makes the city look like imbeciles. Which they are.
|
I guess this news has been the buzz all over town. I think that the issue shoul be brought up in Washington DC. Until then we need to keep our feet on the ground and not let a lot of static about it bother us. I'm fairly positive that all this negative talk is only outlet for a hidden issue. In short I refuse to get all wired up over it so lets switch topics.

Shocking!!!
|
I am SO glad I left Los Angeles.

This thread is a little short of being electrifying.
And the puns are awful. |

The paper I work for is carrying a folo story on this in this morning's edition - I worked the copy last night, and here's what I know:
An L.A. City Councilman asserts that according to law, the fees have to be charged. To waive the fees in this case, for all six people who were transported (this includes the idiot driver) after being exposed to 4,500 volts of juice - and yes, two of them died - would put the fire department, and indeed the city, in the difficult situation of having to decide when, and when not to, waive similar fees in other ambulance transport cases. In any case, what's happened is that the community came together and raised the money to pay off the fees, so everybody is zeroed out. |
'according to the law..'
since when ?.. when they need $$$... laws & CA don't mix's.. Rika |
How would you know, Rika? From the brilliant education you've received on this BBS?

Hey, its Friday, chill a bit... |
I just love it when someone says that "CA. and laws don't mix", who has maybe never set foot in the state. How would he know something like that? From anonymous posts on an internet bbs? The police, prosecutors and courts really need to consult with this guy. They could learn a lot.
