Looked for a certain service on the Net. Not there. Voice related.

So, why can't I order a voice-over to be done by reading my script and sent to me as a digital file? I couldn't find such a source. Anyone have a great voice?

All I want right now is a killer answering machine message. Seems to me that "in character" messages would be popular. And, I seems to me that you could buy those. But what about custom? I don't want a sound-alike, just a nice voice that is not my own.

How deep do you want and how slooooow? I can also do a damn good cow...never fails to solicit laughs from my grand-nieces...not always in a Fortune 500 co. :)

I think Sam Elliot has a grand voice, but that might be too distinct. I'm just looking for voice over quality for videos, etc. in the future. I didn't think I had to hire a professional studio to do some simple stuff, but I find that a good voice helps any video a lot.

I also think good voice on the phone is very important. I couldn't put a good message together to save my life. And I've worked hard at it. Once in awhile someone will think it's a good message, but by the time I'm able to record that, it's not me. I'm trying too hard.

However, between the first post and now, I realize it will be tough to transfer a recording to the AM. Editing into a video should be easy.

Maybe next time Sam drops by I'll have him lay down a message for me. It'll probably come out sounding like I sell Dodge trucks. Or. "Beef, it's what's for dinner."

At the vegetarian's house.

Hey, Ray, outstanding! Although there are a lot of British accents offered (as well as accents and languages of the world), I think I'll give a couple of those guys a try.

5 bucks. I wonder what the catch is....

^^You could likely get it done by someone at the local college doing radio/broadcasting...(a school like Spec Howards).

Or any place with an acting school or active community theater

Why spend $5?

Just post your script here. I'm sure you'll get some great submissions.

Pretty easy to not have to leave my chair and solicit a college student or local actor. You know, I found out there really is a difference. People who do this for a living also know the mixing controls. Amazing what they can do with their voices with just the control console.

A lot of it is too smooth and sounds like a commercial. Anyone with a good voice can always send me a .wav through my email which is listed. If you want to be the voice of Tig McStick, come on down.
