No racist forehead tattoos, probably trying to cover his receeding hairline, happens to the best of us:

Evidently he also owns a rock-n-roll bar/night club in vegas and parties with lots of "cool" people.
Anyone recognize that other guy in the pic?

Its too bad Counting Cars is such scripted/produced crap because I bet he could put out a good show if a real "car" producer did it.

Guess I can't blame History though, they have a format that worked for Pawn Stars and they repeat it to death

I heard an interview with Rick from the Pawn Stars on NPR (of all places). He was pretty good, spoke well and knew his facts.

I went to the Pawn Stars store and it was gawd awful. They'd be out of business if not for that show. My garage sales have more interesting stuff. Not one interesting thing you ever saw on the show ends up on the shelf. They had Breitlings and Rolexes there for more than they cost new. They're making their money off the show and Chumley t-shirts.

You'd say the same thing after visiting my place.
No show or t-shirt sales to keep me afloat though.

Exactly. My boss met Rick Harrison and spoke with him for a while. He said the show was their idea, and he staked the first few hundred Gs to get the first episodes made so they could shop for a network.

Gotta give the guy credit, he's a hell of a promoter...

While not precise, I say nice motor, not nice engine. I think it is a conversational and an historical issue. I can certainly see the point being made, but English is a funny language. Motor is more than electric, it covers both in my opinion.

It bears repeating:
motorcycle,
motorbike,
outboard motor,
motor cross,
Ebaymotors,
motor oil,
Motor Trend magazine,
motor city (Detroit),
General Motors (GM),
Honda Motor Co., LTD,
Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS),
Hemmings Motor News,
Ford Motor Company,
American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators,
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA),
New & Pre-Owned Motor Coaches | Motor Coach Industries | MCI
Motor Homes,
The Morgan Motor Company,
Texas Motor Speedway - NASCAR,
Motor Bus Society
Motor Vehicle Dealer Board
Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV)
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
Geneva Motor Show
Motor clubs
Atlanta Motor Speedway
Bristol Motor Speedway
Charlotte Motor Speedway

When I write a term paper or a dissertation corrections in grammar and usage are appropriate. On a website about cars...Gimmeafreaking break...

For those who could not change their vocabulary the results were obvious. They talked like and were in fact pretty mediocre technicians.

Porsche's definition was very clear..Motors were devices that took existing energy and converted it to motion..like electrical or vacuum motors.
Well no to your no.

Motor is a synonym for engine , the 2 are interchangeable regardless what Porsche feels the definition should be. And Porsche beeing snobby and insisting it should be "engine" is funny cause the actual German word would be "motor".

Great list. And I'll add one more...

GENTLEMEN, START YOU'RE ENGINES!!!!!!! Nuff said.

I'm with the engine crowd on this one. Although yes through time, (redneck influence?), engine/motor have become interchangeable.

Porsche's definition was very clear... Motors were devices that took existing energy and converted it to motion... like turning the existing energy in a chemical fuel into motion

Agreed, but I figure you would be justified if you called him an arrogant elitist snob who thinks his training certificate puts him above everyone else on the planet to the point where he can look down his nose at everyone who doesn't speak as he dictates.
