So...who's buying these?

"Lifestyle" magazines, that is. The rack at the local bookseller is always full and I never see anyone buying, or even just browsing them. I would assume that publishing a magazine isn't a trivial (or inexpensive) venture these days. Is there enough revenue to be had from print ads to make it worthwhile to wrap some advertising around a bunch of fluff articles and put out a magazine? Who's putting up the money to get these things up & running?

The Surfer's Journal is the equivalent of The Rodder's Journal, which is a very, very good magazine about hotrods.

There is nothing my GF likes more than to have an imaginary dose of the flue and spend a few days in bed reading a stack of them.

Different strokes. My gf wonders why I buy and keep back issues of Octane and Evo. Then again, she's one of those people that wonders why I've got a bunch of books I've already read.

Juxtapoz and The Surfer's Journal are actually on a rack behind the "Lifestyle" pulp. They're good reading and not meant to be included with the rest.

You probably don't notice them, because guys in Arizona store them in the closet.

The only ones we have hidden in the closet are those we save for the "Snowbirds" from Canada and the Northern parts of the country. You know, the ones who live in the GWN in the summer and come to Arizona for the wonderful winters.

Should I save a couple for you? When will you be coming down? November is only two months away you know, eh?
