How did you "cut and paste" the one above? Could not get it to let me right click...

Sigh... my brother and I used to own that Cobra. Had to go to help pay for the house remodel.

Very nice.
That's a ferrari 330 P4 getting ready to overtake the AC. That is the car that the Ford GT40 waxed in 1966 LeMans. Beautiful car and I don't think even five of them still exist. |

We were pleased with what we got. The car was changed quite a bit from when it raced at Sebring. Note the small cap on the passenger fender? That was for the dry sump tank , on a 427 !
The parts search for that stuff makes 911R pieces look downright "off the shelf" by comparison. We never went with the dry sump route as the cost of fabrication would have been over 25% of what we had in the car at the time. (yeah, we got it at a righteous price ;-) )

Well.. the story is a little strange. When we bought the car , it was in boxes and the body was in two sections ; front and rear halves. No motor, no trans, no wheels. The guy we bought it from is a well known Cobra collector and helped us buy this car as our first one , CSX 3060, turned out to be real/not real/ real again and we did not want anything more to do with it.
When we bought it, we were told it was Bob Grossman's Sebring 427, but the only info/ pics we could find was of a dark blue one . AFTER we had done all the home work , painted it dark blue with white stripes (as the Sebring car, right?) AND another Cobra enthusiast showed off his Sebring - Grossman 472 SC (in the silver blue with the tricolor stripe like the picture above) ; we discovered that OUR car was supposed to be the silver blue and the other one was the following year's car !! We had the real 10th place car and the other guy has a real car but supposed to be dark blue with white stripes. Grossman was alive but in pretty bad health while all this was transpiring, so that was no help. So if you go to Bob's Big Boy in burbank on friday nights and see #7, that is the early Grossman car that had done so well at Sebring in the wrong paint . imho, it looks better in blue but of course its not historically correct I'll see if i can find pics
