I wonder if the 200K is authorized by the ins co? I don't have to wonder what they will do with any response. I've never believed a word of "no questions asked."

Are you being serious here? I can't tell.

At least not from my phone.

Yeah, but she's in the trunk of the stolen car...

Joe Bob 09-22-2012 11:09 PM

Better a live hooker in the trunk than a dead boy in the rack....or something like that....

He is probably one of the smartest bond managers out there. Here is a good story about him if anyone is interested Jeffrey Gundlach, Bond Savant - Businessweek. I'm invested in the total return fund he runs, DBLTX, and highly recommend it.

Reward is now up to $1.7M.

Recover the art, sure, but the car? Not like it's a real 911*. Just go to the dealer and grab another one with the insurance money.

(*Just kidding. Water-cooled cars are cool too. But much more replaceable and I think a dude like that can afford to make up the difference between his 997's insurance payout and a new 991.)

It's least one of those is a broad, right?

I know some bond traders and they don't need your sympathy, they want your cash. Believe me, they would have no sympathy for you in a business deal. If the guy was injured in the ordeal I might feel differently.

You should be directing your concern for those who are implying fraud. They are the one's actually attacking the guys integrity. I just have no sympathy for the guy so lighten up.

If someone stole my Copenhagen blue non sunroof 944 that I've spent lots of weekends working on to make it how I like it, I'd be pissed, and the value of another average 944 to go buy one wouldn't equate to my own 944. It has value to me beyond its cash value. There are very few non sunroof 944's in the US, and even fewer that came in blue from the factory.

I can't agree with his taste in art, but money won't replace original artwork.

BTW, that's a picture of the Mondrian he's holding. It sold for $5M+ 8 years ago. I love cubism and all things Mondrian, but it does seem like a lot for a painting that I could have done myself.

I'd love to hear the explanation of how someone could return the art, collect the $1.7M and go on their merry way.

speeder 09-27-2012 06:54 PM

Aaaaaand

...he got it all back. Except for the car, but who gives a schit? :)

I'd rather be back in the 80s if I were him. Somehow looks like he had more fun back then! :D There is the Walter Ulbricht beard we just discussed ...
