TENS unit recommendations?
Does anyone have a recommendation for home TENS unit? The interwebs are full of different options and reviews, but it's nigh impossible to pick out the wheat from the chaff.
This will be for the occasional pain issue; I play volleyball and basketball, and the wife does ballet and yoga.

I talked to my chiro this afternoon and he suggested I just order one off the 'net; he said they're all pretty much the same until you start getting into clinical grade units. The Empi one requires a prescription.

I've had a half-dozen people try to hock one. If I had known there was a need I might have done differently. I initial instinct is to be shy of those type of devices.

Yes, all TENS units operate identically. The only difference between them is the quality of the materials in them and that only affects how long they last, not how well they work.
Lots of chiropractors make a lot of money by selling high priced TENS units. One who is honest enough to send you to the Internet to buy a cheap one on line is a step above the rest. Just buy one on line that looks like it's decent enough quality that it will feel nice in your hands and won't fall apart but don't waste any money beyond that. They really are all the same underneath. |

I've been using an EMPI for many years, never a problem. My Pain Management doc precribed it and I get refill pads, batteries and othe goodies sent to me once every few months.

We have a Omron unit for over 15 years and love it. Something like this https://www.sportstek.net/omron-tens.htm

Please tell. What is TENS? I see pain mgmt. I have some bad disks and a car wreck. Neck and headaches almost daily. Is this something to pursue?
Thank you, Larry |

+1 for EMPI. Using the same unit for 10 years.
