We have had our select comfort for 15+ years. I can't sleep in hotel beds now.

My compnay makes the foam for most memory foam beds. The gel is better, but we are launching a much improved foam next year that eliminates all the hot spot issues. We even have a ventilated version coming out soon.

In the meantime, get a sleep number and when you put the mattress together, leave out the top foam that goes inside the mattress. Instead get two twin (assuming a king) or one queen size memory foam toppers, not the cheapos, spend $200 and put it/them inside the mattress and then zip it up. We must be in Heaven, man!

the best mattress is the kind you can stick a "defense shotgun" under without getting into a Princess and the Pea situation

We have Comfortaire beds in the house, just the same as SelectComfort but without the "numbers", just a plus and minus ...

Hey, other things happen on the bed -

Memory Foam and Sleep Number beds suck when it comes to sex....

Stay in better hotels and more of them...

I'm in several HIE and Hamptons a week right now and they all have pretty good beds.

However, I've been very happy with the Serta that I bought at SAMs and had red and wolfboy help me move...

Tempur are said to be awful for sex, but Select Comfort are great. Just grab the control and pump the mattress until it is hard, real hard . . .

Marriott sells the same mattresses that they use in the hotels. A bit pricey for me but they sure are nice beds.

Me? As long as its firm, I am out like a lite 99% of the time...

we lived on a boat for a long time
so when we moved ashore
we really had to hunt for a foam bed
no foam top no air bag

PURE FOAM NO SPRINGS
fairly hard foam only
