Boat Owners: Hull and Deck Paint

Looking at an older Catalina 22. Owner says it's been sitting in the yard for 2 years and has some peeling paint. How big a job is a scrape and repaint? Paint expensive? OK for a DIY'er? Pic:

Scrape and paint implied bottom paint, is that what you mean? Topsides paint can be as expensive as you want it to be. Hours of filling and prep, paint booth... Or you can sand and fill then roll and tip and get a decent job. Lots of time, but doable. Like any paint job prep is key. You shouldnt need much paint, but again, it's as much as you want to spend. Cheapest stuff I would consider is ~$40/qt.

I do bottom paint with an electric DA sander after a scraper. Assuming the bottom isnt too fouled it's about a day on my Alberg30.
