Have you ever slept on a mattress in a hotel where you felt good getting up in the morning? If so, see if you can order the same. Most hotels now allow you to order the exact mattress model you slept on. That at least allows you to try before you buy.

I did this with a Tempurpedic. I think I was drunk when I went to sleep. Anyway, the thing is too hot to sleep on most of the year. I love it when I can get the room down to about 60*.

Tempurpedic sleeps hot.

The beautyrest black beyond foam is broken prior to being built. I dont like the fact that the tempurpedic still has to be broken in still. So what are you guys sleeping on?

I just got a new mattress Monday. That was my second choice. Ended up with a Sterns & Foster. I couldn't tell the difference between the two. The S&F was $200-$300 cheaper and longer warrenty. So far so good.

I did like that one a lot.

Serta I-Comfort Prodigy for about 14 months now. So far so good. I looked at a lot of mattresses and it came down to this one or the Tempur Cloud Luxe.

Serta Memory foam is touted to be cooler. Ad copy talks about gel beads in the foam etc. It's cooler than my old solid memory foam topper but still sleeps a little warm.

The part that sold me was the Prodigy has a layer of latex foam under the memory foam. Rather than the sinking feeling of many memory foam beds you get the feeling of the mattress pushing back, holding you up. More of a hybrid between memory foam and traditional.

I have a previously herniated disk L5-S1. Memory foam mattresses allow me to sleep through the night pain free.

Totally personal preference. I sleep == on a spendy mattress or a $200 futon. As long as the surface is ~ firm I am good to go.

Select Comfort Sleep Number mattresses. I choose my side's firmness, my wife chooses hers, everyone is happy. Plus it sleeps cool, is durable, no squeaks.

I love my Sleep number. Pump that up to the max and I am good to go. I don't care what my wife does on her side.

Sorry, realized it was not the black that I mentioned. My wife gave me a $1500 budget and the black was $2k. Yes, that was was nice. My wife didn't want a TempurPedic after sleeping on one at a relatives house.

I have an older select comfort with a memory foam topper from Costco. Very comfortable combo.

I will never own anything else again.
I have dislocated my neck and my back (and still have some issues) and the wife has a couple of degenerated discs, this mattress is the total answer for both of us to get a good night sleep.
