Is an 06 Audi-A3 S a good vehicle?

Hello.
Looking at an Audi A3 -S- quattro.
It has approximately 30K miles. Very nice condition inside/outside.

I can buy this vehicle for $5000.00 I've talkeh him down from $7500.00.

I figure it's heck of a deal.
Is this a good drivers car and reliable overall ?

Unfortunately I cannot go and look at the vehicle in person..It is too far away.
The owner will ship no problem.
Thankyou for any responses.

$5k? Buy three of them, gotta be a scam or typo. Had an '05 FWD and it was a great car.

Is this car very good in Quattro form ?
I imagine the S is very rare.

Sounds like somebody is about to get SCREWED. Price too good to be true - check. Distance purchase - check. Buyer happy to ship - check.

Let me guess, he's going to give you 30 days to check it out and you can return it if you don't like it? KBB pricing on a 2006 Audi A3 3.2 Quattro S-Line with 30,000 miles is about $20k private party. Think that's just a little too good to be true?

Tell me this thread is a joke and I'll laugh. It's hard to tell on the internet sometimes.

I have millions in a bank in Nigeria. If you help me get it I will give you 40%. All I need is your SSN, DOB, and bank account numbers......

Jim Richards 09-27-2012 12:47 PM

Oh, let me help you, Matt!

onewhippedpuppy 09-27-2012 12:50 PM

Jim replied first, so he gets the 40%. I'll be looking for your account information email Jim. Might as well send me the same information for your wife, you know just in case. Big opportunity lost Denis, but you snooze you lose.

Price is too low unless something is wrong or this is a buddy doing you a huge favor. An A3 is built with the transverse engine config (which, in my opinion, is just wrong in an Audi....).

That's because it's a Golf with a new body

Where is it? A PPI and title check supervised by someone here would be a good first step.

From Craigslist:

"Offers to ship a vehicle are virtually 100% fraudulent"

romad 09-28-2012 05:26 AM

Come on guy a rough trade-in on NADA is 10 grand

Absolutely never buy a car you can't see and touch.....run screaming from this obvious scam.

I realize it seems way too good to be true.

But I once sold a $23k bosendorfer Grand Piano in perfect shape for 30 percent of what it was worth, due to circumstances.
I am very leery. He hasn't gotten back to me since I asked for the Vin and a photo copy of his Drivers L.

There are cases where scammers lifted photos from active ads. When a buyer asked the scammer for specific pics to prove the legitimacy of the deal, the scammer simply contacted the real seller and asked for the pics. The pics provided to the scammer were then forwarded to the buyer who's now convinced the deal is real.

There are Pelicans world wide. I'm guessing that whereever the car is supposed to be, there's a Pelican member close by who would go see it for you.
