I thought I saw I6 somewhere, but I was wrong.

I have a I6 1966 Mustang and no way even if its a fastback is there enough interest in that engine / car combo to make it worth that much.

With that said, the 200 ci in mine is pretty hot, and goes like stink for what it is...

You guys have been away from the 1st gen mustang scene for a while. Any fastback that's not a rust bucket will sell in the high teens/low twenties. I just sold my '67 convertible rust bucket with no drivetrain and "needs everything" patina for $8k. I have a zero rust and paint, heavily modified, but complete '66 fastback that will sell for low twenties and when painted and put back together be worth high thirties/low forties.

I certainly wouldn't throw rocks at an early Mustang coupe set up like this one...;)

I go and have a chat with my neighbor this weekend. I have a feeling its going to be, " I am not sure what kind of Mustang is it, but it is a pretty cream color with shiny wheels."

It is funny how they already know it is worth $16k, but nobody wants to tell you what model it is! Hearing about it around 3 corners like that, it'd probably be gone if it was something nice.

But you wont' know until you check! Maybe info and as showing is just hard to come by and you can end up driving home a real garage queen / sleeper barn find!

We had a guy here on PPOT with an early 60s MB SL he talked some lady out of for $10k. He just posted his 1 year anniversary of that score. I could look up the link, but it will make me sick with jealousy. ;)

I want this half-hearted. I am done working on cars that's for sure so I like this to have very little work but someone can do it if its major. Flipping it was what I had in mind because I have no love for those cars because they do not handle well. Since I know nothing about them, its hard to sink a bundle of money into it and hope to make a few bucks. I will poke around this weekend and see what I can find out. Heck its only 15 minutes from the house but don't want to pester the owner if I was nor really interested. If I do go, you guys can tell what the heck it is that I am looking at by some photos?

Well, you forget it once you know what it is. If it is a hatchback with stick and V8 and in good shape, you may be able to flip it for a few grand in profits if you talk them down to $12k.

Flipping means you do next to nothing - clean it up and advertise it properly with good pictures etc. If it needs any major work, you'll lose your shirt usually, especially if you value your time in $$$.

I am burnt out on wrenching myself. The 993 I like to work on, but the daily drivers I start to hate. To the point where I want all new vehicles and just not worry about it.

Why wouldn't you go look? It could be a K-code fastback in mint condition and worth $40k.

I would go look at it just to put the mystery to bed, and be done with it.
