Miramar air show

Tomorrow is the kickoff of the Miramar air show. I will be there in the MRCF booth with the model aircraft located on the East side of the bleachers. If you are going to the show, stop by and say Hi!

Memories. As a Cub Scout and as a Boy Scout went every year. Camped on base, and for a couple of years let us "stand guard" on the flight line at night. The Blue Angels flying F-4's is etched in my mind, ears, and soul. Bob Hoover and the Commander. Good times.

That's an awesome air show. I went every year before I left for college. One of my best memories was from a show in the 70's - an F-4 and an F-8 did head-on passes toward each other, the F-8 was inverted, and when they met at the midpoint of the runway they both did loops, w/ the F-8 doing a complete inverted loop. They met perfectly at the top, and then again at the bottom a few hundred feet off the deck and left in afterburner.

Completely awesome. Nothing like those old Navy jets, and the guys that flew them.

Really want to get to an air show again... been way too long... Does Miramar have a website that shows when they are doing the show. Maybe I can talk the wife into it next year.

Good news is wife said she would like to go so maybe next year!
