Aladdin Blue Flame heaters

Anyone else have one of these?

I used one a long time ago to heat a small greenhouse behind my parent's house during freeze events and it worked great....

So I saw a couple for sale on CL yesterday and bought them today - $30.00 each. They are not exactly pristine - a nice 'patina' you could say...along with some rust. I know I can restore them. They're made in England are are considered antiques.

Here are the two I bought:

And here is a guy [who BTW sounds a little like Ed Sullivan] demonstrating his Blue Flame Aladdin on You Tube:

I don't have the Aladdin but a couple of more modern kerosene heaters, one which is a 10,000 BTU and a 20,000 BTU which I use for my garage. During the winter I store 10 gallons of kerosene in case we have a power outage during a heavy snowstorm. I have had to use them twice so far in the house for that purpose.

Hey Speedy - thanks for your response. How long can you store kerosene before it goes 'bad'. Does it have a shelf life? Thanks! Baz

had one of those as a boat heater on the houseboat

you can cook on the top of those too

kerosene doesnot go bad like gas
it may grow bugs like diesel if sets too long
but we burned mineral spirits as it is hotter and cleaner

aladdin mades a nice blue flame lamp too
